Kids Public Workshops

Do you have a child between the ages of 7 and 14 who would like to try playing taiko? Learn taiko basics in a fun and engaging 90-minute workshop, taught by San Jose Taiko’s staff and Performing Company.

After hearing a brief history of taiko, participants learn a song based on fundamental stance, rhythms, and technique. No taiko experience is necessary.

PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION or NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN KIDS PUBLIC WORKSHOP. Vaccination cards and/or digital vaccination records or negative test results (PRC test within 72 hours of start of workshop or antigen test within 24 hours of start of workshop) must be shown to enter the San Jose Taiko studio and participate in the Kids Public Workshop. Masks must be worn at all times while inside the San Jose Taiko studio. All san jose taiko instructors are fully vaccinated.

Public Workshops are $50 per participant plus processing fees.  Enrollment is limited to 12 participants per workshop.
